The latest additions to the line up of non-surgical hair loss treatments are exosomes and polynucleotides (or PDRN). If your hair loss is NOT because of a disease of the scalp, then this treatment is certainly worth exploring.
Exosomes are packets of biological messengers exchanged between cells. They promote tissue growth and differentiation, and can be extracted and isolated from stem cells, and condensed into a commercially-available product. They have been used extensively to rejuvenate the skin, and recently to address hair loss. They can be simply applied to the scalp, pushed into the scalp via different methods ( ultrasound, lasers, microneedling, and direct injection).
But what are POLYNUCLEOTIDES? This exciting development came from Salmon germ-cell DNA that was partially broken down into small fragments of salmon DNA. As with exosomes, it has been shown that these small fragments of DNA, can generate new tissue, and help to restore the hair health and make your hair denser and thicker.
Our approach is to combine both of these methods in an easy office visit, where you receive both exosomes and PDRN/ Polynucleotides. This approach has replaced the older approach of PRP/PRF injections, that required a blood draw and also was significantly uncomfortable.
As with any other hair loss treatment, you will need to continue a home maintenance treatment regimen to keep the results you have achieved.
If you are not ready for a hair transplant but are tired of seeing lots of hair shedding in the shower or on your pillow, maybe it’s time to explore a combined treatment with exosomes and polynucleotides.
