This procedure remains one of the most popular cosmetic laser treatments performed in the United States. Hairs in the Underarms, chest, stomach, face, bikini, legs, back and other body part areas are easily eliminated using the latest laser hair reduction technologies. For permanent hair removal, the hair follicle’s bulb, bulge, and papilla must be destroyed using  laser light energy. Laser hair removal targets the pigment in the hair follicle (melanin); therefore, it is not as effective on platinum blonde and white (gray) hairs. The number of treatments varies based upon the hair growth cycles of various body locations and is safe and comfortable to the patient.

Now men and women alike are making unwanted facial and body hair a thing of the past. No more painful waxing, electrolysis or razors! Our lasers delivers 21st century technology for treatment of this distressing problem. Cleared for permanent hair reduction, our lasers can treat men and women of all skin types safely and effectively, year-round. Even patients with a suntan.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT DIFFERENCE

Our laser treatment was designed to be the most outstanding laser hair removal system on the market for all skin types, from light to dark, including tanned patients. Its unique design, longer wavelength, and innovative cooling allow extremely effective, safe , comfortable, and permanent results.

WHAT DO OUR LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS FEEL LIKE?

Our laser handpiece attachment cools and soothes as it glides along your skin during the process. When the pulse of laser is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required; however some patients may prefer to use a numbing cream when sensitive areas are treated.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Hairs grow in cycles, therefore dormant hairs do not respond to laser treatment, and need to come to the active growing phase to be amenable to treatment. Most areas require  an average of 4-6 treatments. However, the number of laser hair removal treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors – hair thickness, your hair and skin color, and the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle. Different hair groups  go through three distinct growth phases: growth, regression, and resting. Laser hair removal treatments work by destroying the hair bulb that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Immediately following your laser hair reduction treatment, the area may appear a bit pink and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs dead and are being expelled as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but you may shave it.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS?

Although patients experience few adverse effects, the most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to a sunburn. These effects typically last for several hours or less. In rare instances, blistering may occur. Consult with your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment. After a sun-exposed area is treated, you will need to wear a strong sunscreen for a few weeks.

HOW DOES THE LASER HAIR REDUCTION COMPARE WITH ELECTROLYSIS?

Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive, and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to them one at a time. Electrolysis often requires years of treatments at regular intervals. By delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time,  lasers effectively treat an area in just seconds that would otherwise take over an hour with electrolysis. Electrolysis is still useful in certain individuals with gray hair, red hair or platinum blonde hair that generally don’t respond to regular laser hair removal.
