CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels can help with fine lines, acne and acne scars, pigment, tone and texture problems. Social down time averages 4-5 days ( usually there is no downtime for the first two days of the peel; and you may continue your social exposure and work during those two days). Peeling usually starts on the third day and clears by day 5. These are medical grade peels that may not be done at home.

The goal of chemical peels and the endpoint of your series of treatments of chemical peels and microdermabrasion is to promote exfoliation (thinning) of the epidermis, inducing ‘wounding’ of the dermis, and allow for increased lymph flow which provides cleaning, toning and reduced redness. By ‘wounding’ the dermis, the dermal layer of your skin will heal itself by producing more collagen that in turn will reduce or reverse dermal thinning – improving tone, texture, pigment and the reduction of
wrinkle precursors.

In essence, by superficial peeling of the skin, we are allowing the skin to heal itself, removing the top dead layers of the skin, and permitting more blood flow and nutrients to reach the skin. Promoting increased collagen production will allow for greater skin elasticity and can correct prior skin conditions caused by UV exposure or the natural aging process.

Chemical peels can also greatly help with acne-prone skin as well as dry skin.

PRX-T33

This is a treatment that we call: laser in a vial. The chemicals in this peel penetrate deep into your skin to give it a glow, tighten and firm it, and correct wrinkles and uneven tone and texture. This is a treatment that can also be done on the neck, decollete, or extremities, in addition to the face.

The main ingredient is TCA, which is an organic acid. The main difference between this peel and other deep peels is that the PRX can be applied in 4 consecutive sessions every week, and it has minimal peeling. Rather than true peeling, you may only see some flaking. The peel application is painless, but you may feel some mild tingling during the application.

The results are impressive and can even be improved by adding the PRX to your micro-needling sessions for deeper penetration of the peel ( or to RF micro-needling). If you have saggy, crepe skin in your neck, arms, face or decollete, give the PRX peel a try!

NO-DOWN-TIME GLACIER LASER PEEL

Performed with the Erbium-YAG laser, this is truly a lunch-time peel, and easily performed in about half an hour. There is NO to very little discomfort with this procedure and it needs no numbing. After you are done, you will walk out with glowing skin. Getting a series of these laser peels will result in correction of tone, pigment irregularities, reduction of acne, improvement of acne scars, pore and fine line reduction. Best results are usually achieved if this procedure is paired with a variety of medical-grade cosmetics that we carry, and with a series of these peels.

The most obvious advantage of this laser peel is that, compared to chemical peels, the peeling is done DURING the laser treatment, and not a few days later. There may be some skin dryness after laser peels, for which moisturizers containing growth factors are highly recommended afterwards.
