There are many different ways one can achieve improved skin quality. The various aspects of skin rejuvenation involve removing or diminishing age spots and color variation, improving the texture of a rough or dull-looking skin, improving the tone and elasticity, thickening of the skin that’s already thin due to aging and sun exposure, treating wrinkles and finally increasing the bulk of the supportive tissues under the skin if needed.

This is a very large topic with many technologies, methods, materials, and surgeries involved, depending on each person’s individual needs and looks.

In general, this is a combination approach, which would require a variety of treatments. With the new trend of aesthetic industry moving away form more aggressive treatments under general anesthesia, many of these treatments are done at the office with minimal to no social downtime, and with no general anesthesia. To achieve this, most often the minimum combination approach is using Botox/Dysport combined with either dermal fillers or your own body’s natural resources such as fat and PRP.

The next step would be improving the surface of the skin. There are many technologies that have different claims and efficiency, with some already standing the test of time. Among them are short-pulse Nd-YAG lasers, Q-switched lasers, radio frequency devices, ablative and non ablative skin rejuvenation lasers( either full field or what’s called fractional treatment), with various social downtime and result.

These treatments are not restricted to the face alone, and can be done on eyelids, neck, hands, and body ( such as stretch marks).

The potential for a great result  depends on the correct  technology and method used, the right combination of treatments, and the skill of the professional doing your treatment. All it takes to fail a good result is a deficiency in any of the components of treatments.

Your experienced cosmetics consultant can direct you to the right treatment protocol, provided they are experienced and knowledgeable about different available treatments and their efficacy and how confident they are that a certain therapy will give you the desired result.
